A new world
riding on an old world
making all it’s little turns
hardly noticing it moves too fast
to see that we all are going the same way
You and me
We aren’t so different
We sleep, dream and wish
The world could move slower
So we can take it all on
A pair of shoes can take you a long way
An inner smile and an open heart can colour the start of your day
Looking through the glass
Clean, clear, and reflecting back reality
Song, dance is missing from your life
Your children are crying, their breathe is tainted
With your story
Yet you haven't stopped to listen to theirs
I can’t stand in the rain
My sugar is melting
The acid is hallucinating the experience
Is it pure anymore?
Or maybe it never was
Why do we come to this world?
With someone else’s polluted story
Our ancestors are still here
They won’t let us erase them.
Their words and wounds gape
and we still bleed for them
We breathe in their tales
and weave heavy overcoats
of regrets, mistakes
and polluted undreamed dreams
The system is flawed
we are broken warriers
rushing
not reading the fine print
Not even noticing
that our hats
are on
The hook
line
and sinker
catches us every time
and we play catch up
Let’s stop
and dream
our Own dream
